The best relationships are ones in which you put in effort and make time to keep in touch with the people who matter to you, despite how busy you get or how great the distance.

Move Up 2009 I remember meeting you on the quad during my sophomore year thanks to no other than the cousin Mark. You were ..awkward, but a good awkward. Haha. And of course you must remember all the “white-boy-Hollister” music songs I made you listen to via AIM and myspace —SecondHand Serenade FTW(yes, still.)

Move Up 2010 I loved how I saw you more often in the hallways during passing period —I mean our “conversations” were just us greeting each other but nevertheless they made me happy because they were consistent. =) 

Move Up 2011/ My Graduation We got a lot closer this year, especially towards the end because of the infamous Bobby Gangsta Swag Lin for volunteering me to make the senior video. I met your lovely family, ate dinner with them (corn dogs, tatter tots, and ice cream! Yes, I still remember!), and your dad drove me home too! I loved it, it felt like I was part of a long-lost extended family —thank you. 

10 hours after graduation, you made me cry.

Move Up 2012/ His Graduation And a year later your last minute advice about life and the multiple crossroads I went through at the time aided and guided me to joy, finally. I’ve never been happier and I truly believe it was because of you —you gave me the brighter side of situations every time I wanted to give up; you were like lights. haha. ;)

I am still amazed that in such a short amount of time we our relationship changed from friends to what we have now. Unfortunately, I do not consider you as my “father” anymore, nor are you a non-blood related cousin, like Tiff, but do consider you part of my family as a younger brother that I will look after, despite the distance that will grow in the up coming years. I mean, I have to, soon you’re going to be one of my children’s god-father.
